New Hospital Proposed for Toowoomba Site
Developers Heal All have purchased a substantial site in South Toowoomba through Ray White Commercial Toowoomba and plan to build a new mental health hospital on the property.
The 4528 sqm vacant site opposite Toowoomba Base Hospital at 18 Pechey Street, Toowoomba, was purchased in a deal negotiated by Peter Marks of Ray White Commercial Toowoomba.
Peter Marks said the site is zoned mixed use, is fully fenced and secure and close to James St businesses.
“We had keen interest in this site which was suitable for a range of potential uses,” he said.
“Heal All was the successful buyer and they propose to construct a two-storey building for a mental health facility.
“The hospital will include 16 bedrooms for in-patient accommodation and an out-patients section that will include medical practitioners primarily specialising in mental health care.
“The location for the proposed facility offers direct connectivity and accessibility to the range of medical services provided at the Toowoomba Base Hospital.
“The developers believe the facility serves an immediate need for additional private hospital mental health care services for the Toowoomba region.
“It will accommodate patients now having to travel to Brisbane and other south-east Queensland centres for similar facilities.”
Town planners Precinct Urban Planning have lodged an application for the facility on behalf of Heal All to the Toowoomba Regional Council.
