New York Slice Comes to Toowoomba

Fast growing pizzeria business New York Slice has secured a tenancy in the freshly renovated Chronicle Arcade in the heart of the Toowoomba CBD for their first outlet in the Darling Downs region through Ray White Commercial Toowoomba.

The 102 sqm ground floor suite at 1/189-193 Margaret Street, Toowoomba, has been leased in a deal negotiated by Ray White Commercial Toowoomba’s Mark Wynhoven.

Mark Wynhoven said the impressive retail suite is the front tenancy in the Chronicle Arcade and ideal for a business such as New York Slice.

“This was an outstanding opportunity to secure premium retail space in an historic building in the heart of the city centre,” he said.

“We have had to work extremely hard to find tenants that can get the most out of the CBD precinct. Traders operating outside of the traditional 9-5 are the key. We have seen retailers such as Owens Camera House and Fine Fidelity relocate to the CBD fringe to provide better access and parking within business hours. An article printed on the 26th July nominated these two businesses as strengths to the CBD, which is a contradiction considering their move was to improve access and parking.

“The recently refurbished suite offers a fantastic outlook onto busy Margaret St. There is two-street access and alfresco dining under the awning. The outlet is in a busy precinct with surrounding cafes, retailers and professional offices.”

New York Slice, which has outlets in Queensland, NSW and Victoria, has taken out a 5-year lease at gross rent, reflecting $525 per sqm per annum showing tremendous confidence within the CBD.
